Lorne Miller is a Montreal based artist who works with acrylic paint and resin. Lorne works on projects that incorporate traditional painting techniques with elements of industrial construction materials taught through life experiences, trial and error.
His unique artistic practice renders an acrylic painted image on multiple sheets of resin layers to create an illusion of a three-dimensional object, scene, or portrait. They are made through an exhaustive process of pouring a layer of resin, then painting on the surface, pouring more resin on top, and repeating the process multiple times. The finished piece is a unique piece of art where the acrylic paint is encased in a crystal clear mass of ice manifesting a cross between a painting and a sculpture.
Lorne’s current body of work “Horologie” represents the craftmanship and beauty of watchmaking. These masterpieces of multi-layer mechanical movements, tourbillons and complications, suit the multi-layer art form of Lorne’s artistic technique and appeals to the high-end luxury consumer of art, watches and celebrity style.
Luxury watches are an unchanging attribute of luxury lifestyle along with exclusive jewelry and unique cars. And it’s not surprising – that if you own these watches, you will be the ideal customer for these paintings.
